Privacy Policy

How Curious Compute handles information when you read our website, contact us or subscribe to the briefing. Last updated: October 11, 2026.

1. Who we are

Curious Compute is an independent editorial publication about artificial intelligence and emerging technology, operated from Texas, United States. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Curious Compute. Our website is curiouscompute.com and our publication and privacy contact is briefing@curiouscompute.com.

2. Information you choose to provide

If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any information you include. Our signup link opens a Kit-hosted form where you provide your email address and confirm your subscription by email. The current website does not offer reader accounts, collect passwords or accept questions for AI-generated answers. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information in correspondence.

3. Website and service information

The website does not add advertising cookies, analytics scripts or a subscriber database. Hosting and email services may process technical records such as IP addresses, request times, browser details and delivery errors to operate and protect their services. Hostinger hosts the website. Kit processes newsletter signup, confirmation and delivery. We do not keep a separate subscriber list in this application or use subscriber information for advertising.

4. Why we use information

We use correspondence to answer enquiries and investigate corrections or rights requests. We use subscription information to deliver the requested newsletter, manage confirmation and preferences, handle delivery problems and respect opt-outs. Technical records support website delivery, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. We may also retain information needed to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. We do not sell subscriber lists or send subscriber information to AI providers for editorial generation.

5. Newsletter choices and tracking

Subscription is optional. Follow the instructions on our signup page and confirmation email to confirm your subscription. Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe option; you may also contact briefing@curiouscompute.com for assistance. Kit’s hosted pages have their own privacy information and may use cookies that are necessary to provide their service. Curious Compute does not use optional email-open tracking, click tracking or Kit recommendations. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral tracking on curiouscompute.com.

6. Service providers and other disclosures

Our hosting, mailbox and newsletter providers process information needed to supply their services. We may disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents or legal claims. We do not provide subscriber lists to advertisers for their independent marketing. Links in our articles lead to independent websites whose privacy practices we do not control.

7. Retention and deletion

Active subscription records are kept while you remain subscribed. Unconfirmed signup records are removed when they are no longer needed for confirmation, subject to Kit’s available controls. After you unsubscribe, we retain only the limited suppression information needed to honor that choice and prevent further marketing. Ordinary correspondence is normally deleted within 24 months after the matter is resolved. Security, legal or rights-related records may be kept longer when reasonably necessary. Hostinger and Kit retain technical logs and backups under their own documented service schedules. Deletion requests do not override records that must lawfully be retained.

8. Your privacy choices and rights

You can choose not to subscribe, unsubscribe from the newsletter, or contact us about your information. Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier consent-based processing. We may reasonably verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Legal bases and international processing

We rely on your consent to send the newsletter, our legitimate interests to answer correspondence and secure and operate the publication, and legal obligations where they apply. You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time by unsubscribing. Hostinger and Kit may process information in countries other than your own under the safeguards described in their policies and agreements. We do not treat acceptance of website terms as blanket consent to marketing or tracking.

10. Security

We limit the information we collect and restrict access to people and services that need it. The website uses HTTPS, and administrative access is protected through the controls provided by our hosting and newsletter services. No website or email service can guarantee absolute security. Please do not send passwords, payment details or identity documents in an ordinary email to us.

11. Children’s information

Curious Compute is intended for a general professional and technology-interested audience, rather than a service directed at children. We do not knowingly seek newsletter subscriptions from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Any additional age or parental-consent requirements under applicable law will also apply.

Article reactions, when enabled

Choosing Helpful creates a first-party functional cookie called cc_reader_reaction to remember your choice in this browser for up to one year. Reading an article alone does not create this reaction cookie. Our reactions database stores a pseudonymous reader key, the article identifier and an expiry time. It does not store your email, name or IP address. The same reader key can link your reactions across our articles; it is not connected to your newsletter subscription. A public total shows browser reactions, not verified people. Select Helpful again to remove that article’s reaction. Under About reactions, choose Forget all my reactions from this browser to delete reactions associated with the current cookie and clear it. Clearing cookies or changing browsers can prevent us from recognizing earlier choices; it does not by itself delete the database records. Reaction records expire from counts after one year from the most recent saved reaction. Expired records and rate-limit records older than a day are removed by scheduled housekeeping. Provider backups follow the provider’s retention schedule. We use these records to deliver the requested reaction feature and limit repeat submissions, not for advertising or cross-site tracking.

12. Changes and contact

We will update this page when our data practices change and revise its update date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before introducing new processing. For privacy questions or requests, email briefing@curiouscompute.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line.
